When it comes to moulding your mouthguard people have a tendency to overcomplicate things and what does that lead to?

A bad fit, a gum shield that can potentially fall out during play and cause choking or even worse, a totally unusable gum shield!

That's why we've put together the Senshi guide to moulding your mouthguard!

Step 1:

First things first. Get enough water to fill a cup, throw it in a kettle and turn it on to boil. Once it's boiled, simply fill the cup with the hot water and wait a couple minutes for it cool down. Whilst you're waiting you can clean the mouthguard with some water. Once it's at a temprature which doesn't burn your fingers but is stilll hot enough to cause discomfort if your hand is left in there too long, place the gum guard into the mug or bowl (doesn't really matter what you use, just make sure its made from a ceramic material).

Step 2:

Use a fork or a spoon and press the mouthguard gently, if its soft and pliable you're ready to go! Place the mouthguard into your mouth and close your lips, make sure that you're sucking the mouthguard onto your teeth and using your fingers to push the mouth guard onto the front of your teeth and using your tongue to press on the back.

Step 3:

Once the mouthguard has cooled down in your mouth, take it out and place it into a bowl or mug filled with cold water, or just run it through cold water. Test the fit. If it's to your satisfaction, then great, you're good to go! If not, then repeat th procedure, starting from step 1.
